Hi Peter, you are correct. DMV made NO queries as to what I did BEFORE the driver’s test. They WERE specific about me coming to the test with someone in the motorhome that had a Class B or Class A license. They even recorded his info when I checked in.

I purchased our motorhome privately, from someone who assumed a regular driver’s license was all that was needed.
Cheers and good luck with the purchase, we really enjoy the size. It is extremely comfortable.

I am considering buying a 42 foot motorhome and thinking about how to get someone qualified who can come to the test with me. You were lucky. In any case, I assume that the DMV was not concerned about how you drove the RV BEFORE you drove it to the test site with your neighbor? I suppose to be completely legal, you could not drive it away from the dealership until you were ready to drive it to the test site with your qualified passenger (provided you had previously taken the tests, and had a permit in hand.) Wow…my guess is that very few people know that.
